Water/Air Vinyl Tubing – 6.1 mm OD × 4 mm ID
Laser Machine Tubing & Hoses
Water/Air Vinyl Tubing – 6.1 mm OD × 4 mm ID
This vinyl water and air tubing is designed for compatible laser machine air-assist and water-transfer applications. Featuring a 6.1 mm outer diameter (OD) and 4 mm inner diameter (ID), it provides a practical replacement option for routing air or water through appropriately sized connections in your CO2 laser engraving and cutting machine.
Commonly used to carry air from the rear of a laser machine to the air-assist nozzle near the laser head, this tubing is available in black or orange and is sold by the foot. Whether replacing damaged tubing, maintaining your machine, or rerouting an existing air line, selecting the correct tubing dimensions helps ensure a proper fit.

How Water/Air Vinyl Tubing Works
CO2 laser machines use tubing to carry air or cooling water between components. In an air-assist system, tubing transports air from the air supply toward the nozzle near the laser head, where airflow helps clear smoke and debris from the cutting or engraving area.
This vinyl tubing features a 4 mm internal passage and a 6.1 mm outside diameter. When matched with suitable fittings, it provides a route for air through the machine's air-assist system.
The tubing may also be used for water-transfer applications where its dimensions, material, temperature tolerance, and pressure requirements are appropriate. Proper installation helps prevent leaks, restrictions, and unwanted interruptions to airflow or water circulation.
Vinyl vs. Silicone Tubing
Vinyl and silicone tubing are both used in laser machine applications, but their properties differ. Vinyl tubing can be suitable for air and water routing when the operating conditions are compatible with the material.
Silicone tubing is generally more flexible, making it useful in installations that require tighter routing or movement. Vinyl may be preferred in certain fixed installations where its flexibility and other material properties are suitable.
Neither material automatically provides better airflow in every installation. Airflow depends on the tubing's internal diameter, length, bends, fittings, and the air supply. Select the material and size that match your machine's operating requirements.
Confirm Compatibility Before Ordering
Before ordering replacement water or air tubing, compare the following specifications with your existing tubing and machine connections:
- Existing tubing inner diameter and outer diameter
- Hose barb, connector, or fitting dimensions
- Required tubing length and routing path
- Air or water pressure requirements
- Operating temperature and material compatibility
- Available clearance around moving machine components
A matching outer diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility. Confirm both the inner and outer dimensions, as well as the operating conditions, before replacing existing tubing. This product is not automatically suitable for every laser cooling or compressed-air system.
Installation & Safety
Before replacing tubing, turn off the laser machine and any connected air or water equipment. Release system pressure and drain water where necessary. Cut the tubing cleanly to the required length and install it using compatible fittings and any required hose clamps or retainers.
Avoid sharp bends, kinks, and contact with hot surfaces or moving machine components. After installation, inspect connections for leaks and verify proper airflow or water circulation before operating the laser. Do not use the tubing beyond its verified temperature or pressure ratings.
