How This Power Supply Works

In a compatible laser engraving or cutting machine, the stepper motor drivers receive electrical power from a DC power supply and control the movement of the machine's stepper motors.

The TL-400S-48 converts the incoming AC electrical supply into a nominal 48V DC output. Compatible motor drivers use this DC power to operate the motors responsible for machine movement.

A properly matched power supply helps the motion-control system receive the electrical power it requires during normal operation.

Important: Installing a higher-voltage or higher-power supply does not automatically improve machine speed or prevent missed steps. Motor driver ratings, current settings, mechanical load, acceleration, and controller configuration must also be considered.

Important: The three +V terminals share the power supply's output capacity. Each terminal does not provide an independent 400W output.

The protective earth connection and COM terminals serve different electrical purposes. Follow the equipment manufacturer's wiring instructions and do not assume they are interchangeable.

110V / 220V Input Selection

This power supply includes a manual voltage-selection switch for choosing the appropriate AC input configuration.

The switch must be set to match the electrical supply before the unit is energized.

• 110V Position: For compatible nominal 110V AC electrical systems.
• 220V Position: For compatible nominal 220V AC electrical systems.
• Manual Selection: The power supply does not automatically select between these input settings.
• Pre-Installation Check: Confirm the selector position before connecting electrical power.

Warning: An incorrect input-voltage setting may damage the power supply or connected equipment and create an electrical hazard.

Never change the voltage selector while the power supply is energized.
