HH52P 24VDC DPDT 8-Pin Plug-In Relay with LED
The HH52P 24VDC relay is an electromagnetic switching component designed for compatible laser machine control circuits and industrial electrical equipment. It features a 24V DC operating coil, an 8-pin plug-in connection, and a built-in LED operation indicator.
This compact relay uses an internal electromagnetic coil to switch connected electrical circuits. Its double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) contact arrangement allows two separate circuits to be controlled through a single relay.
The transparent protective housing allows visual inspection of the internal switching mechanism, while the LED indicator helps identify when the relay coil is energized. Its plug-in design makes it convenient to replace a compatible relay without rewiring the entire electrical assembly.
Important: The HH52P series is manufactured in multiple coil voltages and contact configurations. This listing is for the 24VDC version. Verify the original relay's complete markings, terminal diagram, and electrical ratings before ordering.

Contact ratings, coil power, and dimensions are typical HH52P-series specifications. Confirm the specifications printed on the supplied relay before applying these values to an electrical installation.
How the HH52P Relay Works
The HH52P relay uses a 24VDC electromagnetic coil to operate its internal switching mechanism. When the correct voltage is applied to the coil, the relay changes the state of its electrical contacts.
In the standard DPDT configuration, each contact set includes:
- Common (COM): The shared terminal of the switching circuit.
- Normally Closed (NC): Connected to common when the relay coil is not energized.
- Normally Open (NO): Connected to common when the relay coil is energized.
When the coil receives 24VDC, both contact sets change position. When coil power is removed, the contacts return to their normal state.
This allows a compatible control signal to switch separate electrical loads, such as those found in machine control panels and automation systems.
The built-in LED provides a quick visual reference during troubleshooting. However, an illuminated LED only indicates coil energization and does not confirm that the electrical contacts are functioning correctly.
Compatibility
This HH52P 24VDC relay is intended for compatible CO2 laser machines and industrial electrical equipment requiring a matching 24VDC coil, 8-pin connection, and DPDT switching arrangement.
The HH52P relay family is commonly associated with PYF08A and PY08-style relay sockets. However, matching socket names or similar physical appearances do not guarantee correct terminal alignment or electrical compatibility.
Before ordering, compare the replacement with your existing relay:
- Complete model number and manufacturer markings
- 24VDC coil voltage
- Contact arrangement and electrical ratings
- Eight-pin terminal layout
- Relay body dimensions
- Socket configuration and mounting requirements
- Wiring diagram printed on the relay housing
- LED indicator and any internal polarity-sensitive components
Important: A 24VAC relay is not a direct replacement for a 24VDC relay. The coil must match the electrical supply used by the machine.
Relays with similar dimensions may also have different contact ratings or internal wiring. Always verify the original component before installation.
Understanding Contact Ratings
HH52P-series relays are commonly specified with a 5A resistive contact rating at 240VAC or 28VDC. This rating does not mean every connected device can safely be switched at 5 amps.
The allowable switching load depends on several factors, including:
- AC or DC operating voltage
- Resistive or inductive electrical loads
- Motor or transformer startup current
- Frequency of switching operations
- Operating temperature
- Manufacturer contact-rating specifications
Motors, solenoids, fans, and other inductive components can produce startup or switching currents greater than their normal operating current. Verify the relay's load rating before connecting equipment.
Installation & Safety
- Turn off and disconnect electrical power to the laser machine before servicing internal components.
- Confirm the control circuit supplies the correct 24VDC coil voltage.
- Check the terminal diagram and observe coil polarity where required by the relay's internal indicator or protection circuitry.
- Inspect the relay socket for loose terminals, corrosion, overheating, or physical damage.
- Align all eight relay pins with the socket before installation.
- Do not force the relay into an incompatible socket.
- After installation, verify that the relay and connected electrical equipment function correctly.
- If the replacement relay overheats, chatters, or repeatedly fails, investigate the control circuit and connected load.
Safety Note: Relay replacement may involve exposure to hazardous electrical voltages inside a laser machine. Installation and electrical troubleshooting should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with machine control circuits.
Never bypass machine safety interlocks or protective circuits when replacing or testing electrical components.
