FT127-10 10A Single-Phase AC EMI Power Line Filter

The FT127-10 is a 10-amp single-phase AC power line filter designed to help reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI) in compatible laser machines and industrial electrical equipment.

Electrical components such as switching power supplies, motors, and machine control systems can generate high-frequency electrical noise. This noise can travel through power wiring and interfere with other connected electronic equipment.

The FT127-10 helps suppress unwanted conducted electrical noise along the AC power line. Its compact metal enclosure and mounting design make it suitable for installation inside compatible laser machine electrical cabinets.

Important: This component is an AC line filter, not a power supply, voltage regulator, circuit breaker, or surge protector. It does not replace the machine's required electrical protection devices.

Key Features

  • EMI/RFI Filtering: Helps reduce unwanted high-frequency electrical interference conducted through AC power wiring.
  • 10A Rated Current: Designed for compatible electrical circuits operating within the filter's current rating.
  • Single-Phase Design: Intended for compatible single-phase AC power systems.
  • AC Voltage Compatibility: FT127-10 model specifications list 110/250VAC operation.

How an AC Power Line Filter Works

Laser machines contain several electronic systems that operate together, including controllers, switching power supplies, motor drivers, and other electrical components.

Some of these components generate high-frequency electrical noise during operation. This interference can travel along AC power wiring and affect nearby electrical equipment.

An EMI/RFI filter uses internal electrical components to reduce conducted interference while allowing the intended AC power to pass through.

Depending on the equipment and installation, a properly selected filter can help:

  • Reduce conducted electrical noise on the AC power line.
  • Limit interference traveling between equipment and the electrical supply.
  • Support proper electromagnetic compatibility within an electrical system.
  • Replace a damaged or failed AC line filter in compatible equipment.

Important: An EMI filter does not guarantee the elimination of all electrical interference. Filtering effectiveness depends on the equipment, wiring, grounding, noise frequency, and installation.

Compatibility

The FT127-10 is intended for compatible CO2 laser machines and other single-phase electrical equipment that use a matching 10A AC power line filter.

Before ordering, compare the replacement filter with your existing component and equipment requirements:

  • FT127-10 model number
  • 10A current rating
  • AC voltage and frequency requirements
  • Input and output terminal arrangement
  • Protective earth connection
  • Physical housing dimensions
  • Mounting flange and hole locations
  • Available installation space

Important: AC line filters with similar appearances may have different current ratings, internal filtering designs, terminal arrangements, and mounting dimensions.

Do not assume compatibility based on the metal enclosure or appearance alone. The replacement must meet the electrical and installation requirements of the original equipment.

Installation & Safety

  • Disconnect the laser machine from its electrical supply before inspecting or replacing the filter.
  • Verify the electrical circuit is de-energized before beginning work.
  • Allow stored electrical energy to discharge according to the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
  • Confirm the filter's voltage and current ratings match the equipment requirements.
  • Identify the correct line, load, and protective earth connections using the filter markings and wiring diagram.
  • Secure the filter to the equipment using appropriate mounting hardware.
  • Ensure the required protective earth connection is properly established.
  • Keep electrical wiring away from moving components, sharp edges, and excessive heat.
  • Inspect terminals and wiring for looseness or damage before restoring power.
  • Have installation completed by a qualified person familiar with electrical control systems.

Safety Note: AC line filters are connected to potentially hazardous mains voltage. Some filters contain components that can retain an electrical charge after power has been disconnected. Follow the manufacturer's electrical safety procedures before handling.

An EMI filter is not a substitute for a fuse, circuit breaker, ground-fault protection device, or other required electrical safety equipment.
